Announcement

The San Carlos Estates Water Control District would like to call attention to unlawful (and destructive) activities that took place on district land, within the water retention ponds, on the evening of May 26 and into May 27.

Individuals engaged in destructive activities on district land- such as racing trucks, riding dirt bikes, "making donuts", and "drifting".  District property was severely damaged by these acts. The anticipated cost of repairs is currently estimated to be $5,000.

As San Carlos Estates landowners' assessments directly support maintenance and repairs,  it is crucial for landowners of the District to recognize how these expenses ultimately affect the community as a whole.

This is about safeguarding and honoring our shared community,  not just about property loss.  The District's operational and environmental needs are served by these retention ponds and the surrounding district land, not by recreational usage that results in harm, liability, and needless costs landowners.

Photos, videos, and reports pertaining to these instances are being aggressively reviewed by the district. In order to hold the right people accountable for the damages inflicted, rather than burdening the community, we urge anyone with more information on those responsible to come forward.
